Using Swimming pools as a backdrop for advertising

Researching a recent article about luxury swimming pools, I found a fair few excellent photographs that were just not suitable for the article, but wanted to publish them any way. These first few come from the 1960s I believe. Things certainly have changed as far as what is acceptable to put in an advertisement.

Vintage swimsuit models

This next one is a popular way of shooting, but a good example.

Using a pool for a backdrop, or in this case a foredrop is also popular.

And the occasional eco-friendly ad uses a pool to draw attention to the fact that oif we are not careful, we will end up underwater.

And there are no shortage of pretty girls by the pool

Jayne Mansfield seems right at home floating in a pool.

Interesting photo any way. I don't think I have seen a better one of this ilk. I liked this one also - for just being a little different.

Fashion advertisement

Not sure what they are selling. I don't even care - it's a great photo. And possibly my favorite swimming pool photo is this one:
