Once again, Big Daddy G has made some drastic changes to their search engine algorithm. It looks to me as though there have been two lots of changes - one at the beginning of May and one at the end. And I say "drastic" because I have seen some drastic changes to the ranking sof some of my sites. All in all - this seems to have been a good change for me - and I think a good change for google users because my crappy sites with not such great content have dropped and my better sites with AWESOME! content like this one 
have increased in rankings.
Suits me as most of my sites have good content and the ones that don't were really experiments to see if you can get garbage content ranked. Sadly - you can - judging from the amount of garbage I still find when searching but we can hope that - eventually - Big Daddy G gets the results right and the best content floats to the top. I am not holding my breath though.
I see the financial crisis that is all over and never really happened is still doing its thing and I have come to the conclusion never to take anything a government says as the truth ever again. BP has managed to kill everything in the Gulf of Mexico and speaking personally - I think public hangings for the board of directors, senior managers and majority shareholders would not be an over the top response. I will provide the film crew and I am sure some one will come forwards with the rope and gallows. The cocksuckers at Shell are busy poisoning Africa down in the Niger Delta, and I must admit to feeling a level of utter fucking frustration that I cannot do a damn thing to stop these pieces of shit from killing my planet.
Anyway - back to the non-existent financial crisis. Making money online is one way of going about increasing your income - and make no mistake - if you are not increasing your income - you are getting poorer. I don't know exactly how much money the central bankers can lend to the government Incs before a currency collapses, but I suspect we are going to find out soon. In any case, here are a few suggestions I wrote about at hubpages for making some extra money. Not everyone can do everything but I think there should be something for most people. As a professional blogger, I tend to be paid by clients either for production content, managing a site, link building and other various functions that make a blog successful. But - I also run my own sites and monetize them using affiliate products and contextual advertising. Nothing unusual in that. One of the venues I like to use for these affiliates is hubpages. Having recently completed another hubpages challenge, one of the subjects I covered was "making money online" and I decided to write a few more hubs around this topic as I see more and more people turning to the internet to make a living over the next few years, what with the financial crisis that is all over continuing it's destruction. I hope there will be some useful information in there for those would be internet marketing experts.
This subject is particularly competitive and I think one of hubpages strong suits is to give a little boost when compared to privately owned websites. But - what do I know - Today.com just up and disappeared recently, taking a lot of people's work with them. It turns out Microsoft bought the domain and killed the site - the URL now resolves to MSNBC, which has possibly the most annoying advertising built in to a page since those annoying sound bite ads that played as soon as you opened the page. So - if you were making money at Today.com using their revenue sharing - TOUGH SHIT!
Therein lies one of the quandaries of affiliate marketing - whether you are using adsense or amazon or ebay or any of the numerous other companies - to a large extent - it is a one way street. They can throw you off the program anytime - with good reason sometimes - and you have almost no recourse. Today.com is a great example of the one way street - wham - here today, gone tomorrow. (sic)
Still - that seems to be the way things work - all the power to the big guys. I see amnesty international had one of their ads pulled by the Financial Times at the last minute last week. The ad:
As you can see, the ad was targeting the disgusting business practices Shell use in Niger to screw every penny profit they can for their shareholders at the environmental expense of the local population.
Numerous oil spills, which have not been adequately cleaned up, have left local communities with little option but to drink polluted water, eat contaminated fish, farm on spoiled land, and breathe in air that stinks of oil and gas.
Tim Hancock, Amnesty International UK’s campaigns director, said:
“The decision by the Financial Times is extremely disappointing. We gave them written reassurances that we would take full responsibility for the comments and opinions stated in the advertisement.
Sounds about right to me and you can follow the campaign to shame Shell (good luck with that) here at the protect the human blog.
Not sure which is worse actually - the fact that I either never drive my car ever or know that I am helping to fund this behavior. Oh well - I am sure BP will do the right thing in the Gulf and pay off a few politicians. So what if there is no shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico for the next 40 years. Must be God's judgment for promoting the homosexual lifestyle.

This is my third batch of hubpages 60 day challenge hubs and this time I have switched it up and gone for "buying a used xxxxxx online" as my keywords. This first batch centre around musical instruments and I am hoping to monetize them with ebay ads.
I have really been switching my focus towards ebay since amazon dropped their cookie duration. It is all very well using these affiliates, but when they change the rules mid-stream, it can be financially painful. The amazon cookie change was expensive as far as I am concerned.
