dofollow blog – this is now a dofollow blog
This blog is now (from today) a dofollow blog, which means all comments left are no longer tagged nofollow which is the default wordpress setup.
nofollow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target's ranking in the search engine's index. It is intended to reduce the effectiveness of certain types of search engine spam, thereby improving the quality of search engine results and preventing spamdexing from occurring in the first place. The concept for the specification of the attribute value nofollow was designed by Google’s head of webspam team Matt Cutts and Jason Shellen from Blogger.com in 2005. So, if y'all feel like leaving me a comment, not only will my comments parse your blog's feed and add a link to your last blog post (courtesy of FiddyP's coment luv plugin) it will leave that as a follow link.
Feel the link love flowing........
And here is a quick list of other dollow blogs I have come across lately:

Comments on dofollow blog – this is now a dofollow blog
Interesting. Most bloggers have had DoFollow on their blogs for some time now, but have since removed it.
Aren’t you weary of being spammed alot? There is always comment moderation, which is always good to have in place.
I have akismet – that is fairly good. I am used to it and I don’t seem to be getting any more spam comments than on my nofollow blogs
By the way i found this blog through Hubpages. I was reading your Google front page article, and just tapered off from there, and ended up here.
I also stopped by the Luxe Property blog. Holy Smokes! Beautiful stuff on that site. Nice to meet you.
Missy.
Thanks Missy.
Nice to meet you too
Hi Mark,
I wonder how it is going to help you. Perhaps attract more comments?
Warm Regards

Just an experiment. Lots more comments though. ANd it spreads the link love
Well, its true. Alot of people will be more inclined to post….
Of course the downside is that you get lots of people just dropping by to get their kw anchored links! I too support the do-follow movement: its a real shame when something is nice and social gets “fixed” by having a blanket ban: which is what google did with do-follow links: we have the same thing with drinking laws in my country; there is a fight with some drunk youths at a city beach and now suddenly you can’t enjoy a beer with your barbie because alcohol is banned at the beach; how un-Australian is that!

I’m now thinking of making my own blog DoFollow. I had some problems which led me to add the nofollow tag myself, but I still have to filter out the comments anyway… so I might just remove the nofollow and take part of the link exchange.
I’ll sleep on it and decide tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.
That was my thinking. I have to moderate the comments anyway and I seem to be getting no more or less spam – so I figure it will encourage comments
Hi Mark. I was thinking about making my blog nofollow. Has your traffic increased? I use blogger and it’s nofollow by default. I’m not sure how to change it to dofollow. Do you just put in a rel=dofollow tag?
P.S. That is how I found your site by the way. I was looking up how to make my site dofollow and came across your site on Google. I’m going to try it anyway. Probably will be a spam increase, but I’ll weigh the benefits. I hope it works out for you. I’m going to go browse the rest of your blog now and see what its all about.
