Comments open on blogs
A few comments on comments.
When I go to a blog or website and discover the comment section closed, I come to one conclusion:
They do not want comments on their blog.
That is fine, I am happy with that and I know where I stand. I now know they are not interested in getting comments and I won't try and leave one. But, when I go to a blog and discover the comment section open, I have to assume they do want comments left. Great! I am a big commenter, I like to interact with people and let them know that I liked/disliked/agreed/disagreed with whatever they said.
And if their comments are left open I assume they want to hear from me. So, why oh why do some people make it such a pain in the ass to comment?
I don't want to have to log in to comment. I don't want to have to join a new community to comment, and I certainly don't want to leave a comment only to discover that they have removed or changed the link I left attached to the name I left. This pisses me off no end. If you ask me for a comment and then ask me to enter a URL, I expect a fucking link back. Nofollow or whatever, but I expect a link.
This blog encourages comments and if you leave one, you will get a backlink. Dofollow also. So leave me a comment
The other thing that annoys the life out of me is when people delete my comments because I do not agree with them. By all means delete it if some one is offensive (as I do) but deleting a comment because it does not tell you how awesome you are is stupid. I don't leave inane, "Nice post, thanks." comments. When I comment, I try to add something to the discussion.

I don’t bother to comment on any Blogger blogs because it is too much of a pain.
My blog was no-follow, then do-follow, and now-no follow again. When I switched to do-follow I got so many brainless comments that really added nothing. So I switched back to no-follow. I don’t know which is the right one so I will probably switch back and forth forever.
Work From Home Jobss last blog post..WORK FROM HOME JOBS/ WORK AT HOME JOBS
lol
Well, mine was a nofollow then I switched to dofollow, but I don’t seem to be getting any more spam than usual because of it. Time will tell…..
I’m happy for people to comment on my site, I can’t see the point of enabling comments otherwise. What sort of problems do you have commenting. I don’t get a huge number of comments, but the few that I do seem to be related to the posts. Is it possible that some people have just not configured their sites correctly. There are a lot of people with websites that are more interested in the content than the underlying technology.
I for one would appreciate your feedback on whether it is easy to post comments on my site, if you encounter any problems perhaps you could drop me a short email so that I can fix it up.
Not sure whether I’m follow or not
